The council will consider the plans for the site – which is located in Rotherfield Crescent, Hollingbury – on Wednesday (15th November).
If approved, the redevelopment will see the demolition of ten garages which will be replaced by a mix of two- and three-bedroom rented homes.
Innes Associates has been appointed to design the new properties following a competition held by the Royal Institute of British Architects.

The redevelopment proposal is part of the council’s New Homes for Neighbourhoods building programme, which aims to build at least 500 new homes on council land.
Councillor Anne Meadows, chair of the housing and new homes committee, said: “Building affordable rented homes for local people is a priority for the council and this is an exciting proposal to give a new lease of life to a small site that’s become a target for fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour.”
If the committee approves the proposals, an application for planning permission will need to be filed, which would be expected to be made in early 2018.
